It is at the wheel, 173 to be precise.

No way a (stock or with different exhaust) GSX-R, 1000RR, ZX-10R, R1 will do the same. Some results on the same dyno:

http://www.motorfreaks.nl/general/bi...owerrun-3.html

Note:
Column "Power opg." is the factory claimed pk at the crank.
Column "Power gem." is the measured pk at the wheel.

But all this is more or less academic. If I wanted a "best buy", I would never buy a Ducati. If I wanted maximum horsepower, I would buy a Hayabusa Turbo.

I bought Ducati's, because I like the bikes and how the ride (more "organic" than other superbikes).

Never thought of Ducati as "organic".

Sure, why not.

It was a typo. He meant orgasmic.

Oh, good, cuz I was afraid I got the smaller ones that are supposedly more flavorful (but aren't) and are more expensive for reasons I have to "believe" in.

What are you talking about?

a have a few Ducatis but my K7 GSXR1000 with PC3 and Akrapovic Evo made 179hp and 180hp in two different dynos...

My 06 ZX10R made 170hp totally stock while my 1098S with Full system Termi/ECU/Porting 168hp..
If you want reliability from this V4 motor you have to sacrifice HP and 170-180 from a V4 1000cc motor sounds about right.

Just see the link for an overview of measured wheel hp on the same dyno on the same day.

A '04 ZX10R with different exhaust of a friend of mine had 150 something wheel hp at this dyno.

170hp totally stock at the wheel means about 195 hp at the crank. Don't you think they (Kawa) would advertise with this then?? (And like Kawa does, 205 hp with ram-air )

I think he's right, there's been a huge jump with the litre bikes in the past couple of years. On a dynojet, 07 suzuki's can easily hit 175-180 with a pipe and PCIII.

They can make about 195 in superstock trim and about 210-220 in superbike trim.

I agree but the superstock/superbike hp's are crank hp's, not at the wheel.

Which brings us full circle, I'm saying those are the numbers from a dynojet dyno at the rear wheel. Desmohardpipi is saying that the dynojet inflates numbers. But we all agree that the dynojet is the most popular dyno in the US.

Since we don't have any idea as to what kind of dyno you're using over there or whether you're even talking PS or the US standard RWHP, all we can do is put modern bikes on your dyno and take a guess.

It still amazes me we can't get anyone in the states to role the thing onto a dynojet dyno and post up a chart.
