don't even need to adjust the ride height because the aspect ratios of the tires do it for you. Also means you can run normal road rubber rather than OEM Duc tires aka 50% more expensive!

I've always got on with the Pirellis. I guess its personal pref. Also, here in the UK the control tire for the British Superstock 1000 series is the Metzler (same as Pirelli dif tread pattern) so I will prob get a few sets of ex qualifiers from the racing snakes! Keeps their entry fees paid and I get half/third price tires....

If this is true then, that sucks !

I'm pretty certain the 999R wheel is 5.5in where as the D16 is definitely 6.25 so that restricts the tyre choice to a degree. The M7R will come before long but you have to get an order in. There are loads of other 17s that can be ordered/modified to fit (BST, Dymag, Marvic etc) they just don't match the front. If you check out http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...#ht_3548wt_911 you'll see the 16.5 Marvics.

PVM makes the 6-spoke in a 6.25X17 for the 999 so that's nat a problem

The M7R is not going to be made for the 999 so you'll have to figure something else out !

I pay significantly less for the oem rear tire than I do for the DOT race tires (Mich P1B) I run on my other bikes.

Hi guys ... new to the forum and first reply in here as well.

Last uncrated Desmo is already in my garage. Dissapointing some of you and not others, I am already riding it. I am not good at keeping stuff un-used.

This is my first Duc and you can say I entered the dark side with it as all I had before this were MV's (which I still have 3 of them)

Great forum for what I have seen so far. Will sniff around some more. Cheers

Did you end up with #1170 ?
If you did, then I am one of the dissapointed (if you snooze, you loose. I guess I had my chance)
Never the less, I am happy for you !
Enjoy, It's one of the greatest motorcycles ever made !
