Default Hate that flatspot down low

Anyone have any luck getting the dreaded flat spot between 2-4K RPM fixed under warranty? I've been to dealer, they reflashed it - little improvement.. but no-joy. If I have to spend $2500 for the termi slip kit to get a brand new bike to run right..that kinda sucks...but unfortunatly that may be the only way out of the flat spot caused by emission standards that Ducati has to maintain.

The flat spot is caused by the need to pass emissions standards. The system runs closed loop under 5000 rpm, and there's no way to get around it. The DP ECU that comes with the Termis is the same way. The only way around it is an ECU reflash by a qualified person or an aftermarket programmable ECU like a Microtec or a Nemesis.

Thanks, that may chnage my thoughts on the Termis - thought that the ECU that comes with them was not restricted for emissions

Itīs a little anoying with the "not so good" low rpmīs.
Maybe it got a little better after the new ECU and Termis but still, itīs not smooth and lean like the way youīd like. Everything above 4000 rpm is as it should be.

Either this experience differs from bike to bike (or country to country) or I simply got lucky.

Whilst i could notice a slight "hesitancy" in the power between 3000-4000rpm, it never really annoyed me, and it was easy to ride the SF around that zone if I wanted to go quick.

After I got the Termis and DP ECU, the fuelling is flawless.....it's like, what flatspot???

That is exactly what I was thinking & was going to reply with "get an Australian ecu", no probs here at all.

Howdy Chaps have eagerly read over this forum for quite a while looking for a resolution to the comon Down low fuelig /advance issue

I have finally managed to sort them out on my SF. The bike used to be fine "going for a scratch" but as i have prevsiosly read on numerous occasions not the best in town etc

What i did was
Tuneboy ECU reflash (open loop) with the ignition advance both tuned for 98 fuel and smoothed out. This alone really improves the issue. This was provided by the nice Paterson boys at Ducati bunbury in W.A.
I also installed a power commander V and dual chanel autotune. Also supplied by the Bunbry ducati boys.

The Tuneboy re-map on its own was great but as i am a bit of a "fiddler" i really like the fact that when i mod whatever on the bike tunes its self not to mention hot/cold pressure etc

The results are amazing the bike doesnt surge or splutter and is a smooth as silk whilst still having all the power/grunt it used to (and more i told)

Overall not a cheap solution but an amazing result and i couldnt be happier

The DP slipon ECU is USELESS and runs closed loop thus the ECU reflash
