Default My Second Track Bike is Home!

Man has this been a long month but yesterday the Queen and I got to take a 250 mile drive to pick up my new LOVE and all I can say is WOW!

First off I need to thank my wife since she's the one who actually bought this for me. This spring when I had my 1198S torn apart and was waiting on parts from Italy that were delayed due to the Volcano she decided that I needed to get another bike so I'd have one to ride while one was down. (Before you start thinking "oh what a wonderful woman". Trust me, she's made out like a Fat rat the past 12 years so helping me to get back to being a Track Rat is owed.)

Anyway, back to the bike. I'm not sure if the 09 RSV4 was smaller but at 6'2" 180 LBS with a 32" inseam I can't stand flat footed wearing my Sidi's and parked next to the 2010 1198S I don't see where the reports of it being small is valid.

I can tell you that I rode it the 250 miles back home only stopping 3 times for gas and water in 99 F heat with 75% Humidity and it was a pure joy and I'm looking forward to getting back on her again this morning.

I believe I........"Sorry Honey!"..................the Queen chose the right bike for my second track bike.

The angular lines of the RSV4 highlight just how svelte the 1098's lines are.... Two very desireable machines. Congrats!

can you give us a feedback on how a v-4 engine feels? is it true that it has the low end torque of a twin and the top end of an inline? Great choice of bike! I love it.

Sure will. Right now I'm going through the long boring breakin dance and 7.5K of the 14K rev limit is all I can use for the next 400 miles (First 600 miles) and then 9.5K from 600 to 1200 miles. After that I'll ride the crap out of her along with my 1198S and do a write up.

Good choice, thinking of doing the same thing but the RSV 4 R.
The one I test rode han no bottom end, nothing under about 4000-4500 RPM.

+1, I think I'm about to make the same decision to have a third, more dependable bike. It's too small for me, but I figured if I can enjoy an S2R800, I can enjoy the RSV4R.
